Chachkas says “ya me despido”

May 19, 2010

Rick Fuller of Chackas on South Granville, Vancouver

Since 1981 Chachkas has been at the forefront of Vancouver’s urban style. From Alessi to Umbra, Chachkas has been the ultimate gift shopping experience.

It is with celebration and sadness that we say goodbye to our good friends at Chachkas.  So often, a business departure points to missed opportunties or bad choices.  In this case, after 28 years, Rick and Margo celebrate a successful retail career and are moving on to the purpose of it all—a happy retirement.

Margo will be sticking close to home for now and is being hotly persued by other businesses… and Rick tells me that his house in Mexico is almost finished and he is ready to make it his official residence.  How great is that!

Chachkas has served the Vancouver community for 28 years.  As a neighbourhood we have been honoured to share part of that 28 years.  We will miss them and wish both Rick and Margo every success in their next adventures.

Adios Amigos.

I miss Chachkas, too! Bought a beautiful silver chain there about a year ago. Unfortunately broke it and would like to find the designer. Someone local I think. Would anyone know who it might be?
    thanks!
